Govt Offices are now buying Electric Bikes Only
After the care taker chief minister of Punjab ordered the govt offices to become more enviornmental friendly, It is decided by the government offices to buy electric bikes only.The Parks and Hortiulture Authority Punjab (PHA) becomes Pakistan’s forst government institute to start using electric bikes as daily mode of transport for their field staff and other employees.
Based on the information provided, the authority has chosen to provide its staff with electric bikes. Today’s distribution of the first batch of e-bikes demonstrates their dedication to encouraging environmentally friendly transportation within the company.
Under Director General Muhammad Tahir Wattoo, a meeting was previously conducted to discuss this. He emphasized throughout the conference how critical it is to raise Lahore’s air quality.
Commenting on the department’s plan, DG Tahir Wattoo said that because e-bikes are ecologically friendly and help to reduce air pollution, they are the greatest substitute for traditional modes of transportation.

“They have the ability to lower fuel expenses while producing no noise or pollution in the air,” he said. The Electric Vehicles Policy of Pakistan 2020–2025, the DG PHA continued, has been a crucial component of the government’s initiatives to increase domestic e-bike production.
It is important to note that the Lahore High Court (LHC) emphasized the importance of offering e-vehicles to government personnel on a regular basis during the current hearing of the pollution issue in Punjab.
In addition, the province’s high court has placed a strong emphasis on encouraging cycling culture. Earlier in the day, LHC issued an order closing all provincial educational institutions on Saturdays until the end of January 2024.
