Punjab Police To Purchase Electric Bikes!
In an effort to tackle the petrol crisis and reduce annual fuel costs of millions of rupees, the Punjab police have made the decision to buy hundreds of electric bikes.The recent fuel crisis, which has severely impacted police operations throughout the province, was the catalyst for the decision. Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General (IG) of the Punjab Police, confirmed the news to a local media outlet.
After the recent electric bikes policy, the government of Punjab is making serious steps to promote electric bikes in Pakistan. The motorcycle manufacturers are now shifting towards developing electric bikes instead of regular petrol powered motorcycles. The EV Policy of Pakistan for 2020 – 2025 is aiming to introduce and promote more and more electric vehicles in Pakistan. The policy allows many different incentives to the companies in manufacturing and promoting electric bikes in Pakistan.
The fact that currently available Electric Bikes in Pakistan need to come a long way. The technology needs to be matured and the charging facilities need to be scattered around all over Punjab across all territories.The batteries harging time needs to be reduced and the range needs to be enhanced. That is the only way an electric bike can replace regular petrol powered motorcycle.

Naqvi suggested the provincial police switch to electric vehicles even though he would give the necessary funding for fuel purchases.As per the CM’s recommendation, IG Punjab said that they have chosen to buy 200 electric motorcycles.
