Chery Master Pakistan has announced it’ll be launching the Tiggo 7 PHEV on April 10, stepping into the C-segment plug-in hybrid SUV market that, honestly, has been sitting mostly empty for a while now.
Unlike some launches where you’re waiting forever, the Tiggo 7 PHEV will hit the ground as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit right from day one. Deliveries, though, are looking at June 2026 assuming bookings come in at the pace Chery’s hoping for.
Engines and Performance
Chery built this thing on their fifth-generation Super Hybrid platform. The setup pairs a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine with an 18.3 kWh battery and a dedicated hybrid gearbox. Put together, you’re looking at 255 kW, that’s 342 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque. Chery claims 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds, which is respectable for a family SUV this size.
To speed up the transfer procedure and shorten application wait times, more counters have been deployed.
Efficiencies and Range
One of the more appealing numbers here is the claimed 90+ kilometres of pure electric range. Combined with petrol, the total claimed range crosses 1,200 kilometres. For daily city commutes that’s potentially huge, plug it in at night, drive electric all day, and barely touch the petrol engine.
Chery’s saying fuel costs could drop by over 70% compared to a regular petrol SUV when you’re mostly driving on electric. Whether real-world numbers match that in Pakistani traffic is a fair question, but even half of that would matter when petrol prices keep climbing.
Safety Features
The Tiggo 7 PHEV isn’t just about efficiency, it seems like Chery is trying to tick the “premium experience” box too.
You get:
- Eight airbags (which is reassuring, to say the least)
- Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems)
- A 24.6-inch dual display setup
- A Sony sound system
- And even vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, which lets you power external devices directly from the car

It’s the kind of feature list you’d usually expect from much more expensive vehicles.
To speed up the transfer procedure and shorten application wait times, more counters have been deployed.
Fuel prices aren’t going anywhere but up, and proper plug-in hybrid options in this segment are rare. That gap is exactly where Chery’s trying to plant its flag with the Tiggo 7 PHEV.
Pricing and booking details revealed on April 10. The company’s also been upfront that early deliveries are being prioritised, partly in anticipation of possible government policy shifts around hybrid vehicles.
