A European tourist dies in a road accident in Pakistan

A European tourist who had traveled to 50 countries was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Balochistan. According to officials, the accident took place on Thursday in the Chagai district of Balochistan bordering Iran and Afghanistan. Here is what we know so far.

Deputy Commissioner Chagai Hussain Jan Baloch told Urdu News that 28-year-old tourist Nuno Castinera belonged to the European country of Portugal, and entered Pakistan via Iran on a heavy bike. According to the district administration, along with the Portuguese tourists, two German tourists also arrived in Pakistan from Iran through the Taftan border on Thursday. All three were riding heavy bikes and were heading towards Quetta.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that Levies officials were also deployed to protect the tourists who were traveling along with them in the vehicle. On the way from Chagai to Quetta, Nuno Castinera’s motorcycle collided with an Iranian Zimbad vehicle coming from the front at Yak Mach Talo.

Hussain Jan Baloch said that the Portuguese tourist was injured in the accident and was immediately shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Chagai, but he succumbed to his injuries.
He said that the dead body of the tourist was sent to the provincial capital Quetta in an official ambulance, where an autopsy will be conducted at the civil hospital, while a letter is being written to the Embassy of Portugal regarding the accident.

Poor European Tourist

Hussain Jan Baloch said that the Portuguese tourist was injured in the accident and was immediately transferred to the district headquarters hospital in Chagai. He said that there is a security concern in the area, so Levies officials are deployed along with the tourists.
He said that the tourists traveling on motorcycles have to walk behind the Levies vehicle, but the tourist was driving the motorbike in the wrong line on the one-way road connecting Quetta with Taftan and Iran, going ahead of the Levies vehicle. Hit by an oncoming vehicle

According to the Deputy Commissioner, a case has been registered and the driver of the vehicle has been arrested and an investigation has been started. In the initial investigation, the fault of the tourist has been found, however, further investigation of the accident is underway.
