MG Enters Pakistan Pickup Market
Karachi’s Pakistan Auto Show 2025 saw a new contender in the pickup segment. MG unveiled its U9 pickup truck, marking its first diesel pickup in the country. Bookings started immediately at Rs. 8 million, though the company hasn’t shared delivery dates yet. Buyers are curious, and the vehicle has already drawn attention from commercial users and pickup enthusiasts alike.
Engine and Performance
The U9 is powered by a 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine, producing 215 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. It comes with a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox and a 4×4 drivetrain. The truck has front and rear differential locks, a 3,500 kg towing capacity, and 220 mm of ground clearance.
In practical terms, this means a small business owner could haul construction materials across uneven city roads or rural areas without worrying about getting stuck. Off-road enthusiasts can also explore the hills around Murree or the roads near Gwadar safely.
